Happy belated new year to everyone, and every leo! :)

I hope this new year would be a kick for ai leo club,
with many more new projects coming in,
so much such that we can't even breathe!

And I really hope to see improvements in the attendance,
if any one of you reading this starts to feel guilty, please do something about it.
It does not matter if you're in the BOD, or just a normal member. :)

Summarising the past 6 months,
even though they weren't as eventful as how we were in 2006/2007,
I'm still happy as
1) Lion Charlie, being our new leo advisor, has helped us out and gave precious advice on alot of leo matters! He even helped us fight for the TOP club, and never once complained.

2) the BOD is working!!!
(Even though most of the time, it's only us.)

I know it must be stressful cause' O's are nearing, and it's getting harder to juggle between studies and leo(which can even take up most of the weekends we have, sometimes),
especially when our foundations of the subjects weren't very well-set,
but it's only 6months left before we step down,
so make the best out of it alright!
I love you guys so muchhhh. :)
Even though there's still a very SMALL percent of BODs being inactive, I hope they can do something for the club as well. Don't take up the position, and not doing anything for it.

Wealth Of Love 2007

We'll be attending Wealth of Love 2007 organised by Leo club of Raffles City & Leo Club of Ngee Ann Poly.

We will be raising funds in aid of Moral Home for the Disabled through recycling campaign in Toa Payoh and Ngee Ann Polytechnic. The amount raised will be donated to the Home for its daily operation costs.

The project will involve collecting and reselling of:
Newspapers;
Magazines;
Clothing;
Soft toys;
Empty canned tins, etc

Recycling Campaign @ Toa Payoh (1 July 2007)
We will also be conducting a one-day event in Toa Payoh and would need a large pool of volunteers to collect recyclable items from over 100 blocks of flat in the community.

chalet was fun, wasn't it?!

a glimpse of what AILEOS did through the 3days 2 nights:

FIRST DAY:
we gathered at yishun mrt at 1230.
and train-ed down to pasir ris for the chalet.

on the way there,
this is what happened.

dark, and low-lying clouds. {geog}

the rain went on till late afternoon/evening.

we are forced to give up escape for the first day.
we then slacked/played games and bonded in our own chalets for 2 hours before going into the juniors chalet/juniors block for a Jacky Wu game.

roommates in the seniors chalet/seniors block! :D

3 different groups for Acting out Jacky Wu's game.

who's really being tickled? *smelly*

heh heh heh. punishment for lowest mark/guessing wrongly:
PICKLED LEEK!(or garlic)
very smelly oh! xD

this game ended around 7pm, (because we checked in around 3 plus)
and we then went to Downtown East for dinner!

wooooooooooooooooooooo~
spot the 'real' 2 ghosts by aileos. HAHAHA.

and sent Jessie off after dinner.

we shouted across the roads.
'SEE YOU JESSIE'/ 'BYE BYE JESSIE'!!!

we then browsed through the shops at Downtown east.
then went for a nightwalk by the beach.

it was dark, and wet.
but we still enjoyed one another's company very well.(:
so well that a couple called us to shh.
uh oh.

then at night,
some of us(the juniors at the seniors' chalet) went over to our Juniors block to bathe and this is when the seniors strike.

then after we all bathed,
all the juniors went into the seniors chalet/block and gathered to talk.

our initial topic just revolved around one leo's life story. (=P)
and then, it changed to Ghosts.
i think that's the thing everyone can't leave out to talk about.

seniors+ juniors really bonded very well during this chat,
as we shared about what we know about that person.

SO FUN!
we have a common topic! :D

however, it was already quite late into the night,
and we still have escape+cycling+bbq the next day,
so we decided to go to sleep.
at 2plus.

2nd day (the surprising day! The day filled with 3 surprises!!!)

everyone was to wake up at 9,
to prepare for escape which starts at 10.

we wanted to be the earliest customers.
but ah, too bad, we aren't. (:

and some slept to 9 plus.

and before that, the juniors went over to the Juniors chalet to plan a morning surprise for them.
maybe, it wasn't really counted as a surprise as the seniors kept asking us to serve them breakfast yesterday. hurmph.

early in the morning, doing breakfast for our beloved seniors!

it was so hard to sneak out of the seniors chalet without being noticed.
(tohmin's hp rang just at the time i was slipping through the door. HEHEHE.)

and, thanks to ADELYN, we tried different ideas for the sandwiches.
and also thanks to weiquan and kenny for buying the bread for us in the morning!
and to the other junior leos for trying our 'dishes'.

and we served the breakfast right up into the seniors' chalet!
(we didn't tell them abt this at all.)

the seniors were surprised as they didn't really expect us to make them breakfast.

they finished all of our breakfast!
so nice!

we then went back to our own chalets to prepare for escape!

it was still drizzling!

and we did a really lame thing on the Pirate Boat which was the first game we tried upon entering.

all the way till the ship went into lower heights. phew.(:

then we tried all the other games as well.
>> wet and wild, etc.

however, halfway through, we went back to our chalets because it was raining and we can't play any games and we finished our lunch at Burger King AND that we finished our ice creams, and carnival games

again, all of us gathered in the seniors chalet/block.
and this time, we played ZHONG JI MI MA.

everyone who kena have to eat up the remaining pickled leek.
or at least, drink the juice. :P

there are 2 groups.
during every game, 1 group plays and have internal struggles (LOL), while the other thinks of the numbers.

the juniors and seniors were scattered between these 2 groups.
NO MORE DISTANCE.

as the rain subsided,
we went back into Escape and played more games!!!
>haunted house. (one group of us. mainly the seniors. went into the haunted house and shook hands with the ghosts. :/)

and etc.

after that,
we went back for cycling/skating!

then,
it was BBQ!!

adelyn + jeffery starting the fire! :D

and UE leos helping with the bbq while we (aileos) are up to something.

also, all of the aileos were drawn on the hand,

because our theme for that bbq is GREEEEN.

then, halfway through the bbq,
the seniors used the excuse of bathing to slip off.

that excuse was perfect and i can't find any flaws in it.
so, we didn't suspect anything.

some of us remained in the chalet to chat,
while others were out bbq-ing.

SUDDENLY, WE HEARD A SONG.

and we turned around to see JANNICE holding the cake and the other seniors around her.

the atmosphere was very nice and romantic!

many of us were really caught by surprise.
because it was supposed to be a seniors' chalet and it should be us surprising them FIRST.

and i (i'm cory typing~) cried because suddenly,
it hit upon me that the seniors are leaving for real.
and that...
they're not only leaving aileo, but aiss.
(all are already sec4s and 5)

but nevermind.
here goes(:

most common colour: green!!
some of them didn't have green shirts/pants on BUT they have green hair clips/rubberbands!(:
and everyone have had their hands drawn!!

and then,
bbq continued.
while most of the juniors were up, trying to do something back to surprise the seniors.

again, the seniors tricked us. =.=
by hurrying us and saying that senior yuekai is leaving very soon.

so we..
cory, adelyn, jieying, glynis, jennifer, lili, shufeng, jessie, sandy, aileen were up trying to think of ways.(2nd floor is out of bounds to seniors, but somehow, some still managed to get in. :( )

taking each senior's gifts and a rose in our hands,
(the stupid excuse at first that the roses are meant for christmas party! ^^)

and we sang the new, created, 101% original, all rights reserved song for the seniors.

after bbq, and cleaning up,
all of us went into the seniors chalet again.

although it was quite quiet at first, because we're all tired (escape+cycling+bbq!!),
we still had a lot of fun!!

the juniors+ seniors played HEART ATTACK TOGETHER.
very thrilling.

we screamed and were all very excited.

then, there was knocks on the other door, next to the fridge.
and knocks on the front door.

we opened the door and found some Management person there.

we were told to keep our noise level down,
if not, he would have to come again and only 4 persons can remain in the chalet then.

after he left,
our moods were kinda spoiled.
and then, we thought of going to the juniors chalet to play heart attack, and make him find us there again.(:

but we were nice souls and decided not to.
so in order to compromise,
we played SILENT HEART ATTACK.

this heart attack can really kill.
as the person who makes the most noise/screams have to be punished.
we were also forced to control our laughters and do them silently.

very tough!(;
but overall, it was damn fun!

then the game ended early, as most of us wanted to retire.
and we slept.

however,
some of the seniors still continued to scare one another. =.=
the bed in the middle of jeffery's sleeping bag and the other bed the seniors slept on was the victim! :(

LOLOL.
but it was kinda nice lah.(:

then we slept at 2plus, 3.
and said to wake up at 5. then 6.

however, at 6, no one was ready to get up, yet.

but soon, we did.
and had our breakfast.

then we played some card games and packed up.

then, the seniors presented us these cards again.

SO TOUCHED, SO NICE, SO CUTE, SO LOVING. (:

The chalet ended with surprises, laughters and tears.
but, we really shouldn't be too sad. {i've gotten over it}

for, like what wanying says,

1) 4 sets of clothes (1 in case. but it's okay if you want to keep it to just 3. rmb your undergarments. :D)
2) toiletries like. tooth brush, tooth paste, your bathing towel (3), soap, shampoo, etc.
3) sleeping bag*
4) slippers
5) socks (for bowling)
6) toilet roll*
7) insect repellent*
8) torch light*
9) money! for meals.

the fundraising for cambodian orphanage was still a success even though we were running against time.
i'm sorry it was quite a hassle in the beginning,
we can improve. :]

thanks everyone for making this possible..

every AI Leo for helping with the food/drinks/cleaning up/preparations,
teacher-in charge, Ms cheng, for guiding us,
weiquan for helping us,
and of course, AI Leo seniors for helping us take orders for the cup noodles/milo dinosaur,
and every other seniors and juniors in AI for supporting us!

firstly, let's start with a loooooooooooong list of why we(juniors. also known as 'xiao de' or small ones in our club) love being in leoclub!

because of fun, loving and caring seniors who never fail to make us feel appreciated and needed in the CCA and always provide us with gossips and endless fun throughout all activities
the really really enjoyable 'fellowship' we have after activities, like bowling..
because we don't have to face biased seniors. we all receive the equal treatment!
because we don't have to face unnecessary stress too! besides academic stress, we don't have to face stress, like how to please seniors with musical skills/how to do something better to make them less unhappy. we get to be ourselves!
we get different experiences from different activities!
and most of the activities are held out of school!
though hours can be quite long and inflexible or clash with our school hours or studying time, the fun and experience gained from them cover everything!

all in all, voluntary work is made much more fun and easier!

thankyou seniors!:)
it's been a really fun time to hang out with you all throughout fiscal year 05'06 .

will never forget the time during Leo Chalet. felt like a friend than a junior. much much more. made me feel so happy to be in LeoClub.

and of course, every activity out with you guys was made soo interesting!

i feel very fortunate and lucky to have joined leoclub if not, i'll miss out on nice seniors! :)
tears are never wasted.

just feel extremely sad as when seniors leave AISS and AI leoclub, there'll only be all of us, who are 'xiao de'. inexperienced and all. but i know we can always count on you guys and call you up any moment when we need help right? :P

also thanks for leading us and helping us for the 12th INI. it's supposed to be our project but it's turned out to be yours.
